Our native timber lodge, named for our dominating century-old plane tree, is well sited at the rear of one and a half acres of English style garden with just a touch of the South Pacific.

Guests enjoy the mature trees, lawns, flower beds and a wide variety of New Zealand and exotic fruit trees.

A trip to Cape Reinga will allow you to capture the very essence of Northland, both in its spectacular scenery and diverse culture. On Ninety Mile Beach, experience quad-bike riding, fishing or horse riding. Visit Bay of Islands and Doubtless Bay or just relax on one of the many beautiful beaches that abound on our doorstep.

We are happy to assist with bookings and reservations. We cater for all parties including families.

Each evening return to the peace and serenity of Plane Tree Lodge; wash the sand from your hair and enjoy a delicious meal at one of our local restaurants. Alternatively, savour a glass of wine in the spa pool while watching the sun set over a peaceful country landscape.

If required, we can also help with transport to and from your day's events - or in the evening, to and from the restaurant of your choice. At Plane Tree Lodge we want to help you create memories which will last a lifetime.

Cosy living room and facilities

Guests are welcome to relax around the cosy log burner and enjoy the family atmosphere.

There are three bedrooms in the lodge.

There is an attached, but self-contained, cottage which comprising two bedrooms (one queen and one twin), lounge/dining room with TV, stereo, etc., and a full kitchen.

There is also a completely self-contained private cottage with two double bedrooms, one twin bedroom, lounge and dining room, full kitchen and laundry and separate half acre of grounds. Breakfast is not included with this accommodation.

Comfortable Bedrooms

Upstairs in the lodge, we have a guest lounge with TV, stereo and tea and coffee making facilities, two bedrooms with queen-size beds and one bedroom containing a king-size single bed.

All bedrooms have their own en-suite and are equipped with hair dryers, toiletries, towels and bathrobes.

Sumptuous breakfast

Plan your day's activities over a healthy continental or cooked breakfast. We include such delights as freshly-picked strawberries and raspberries (in season), home-made muesli, conserves, yoghurt, pure organic fruit juice, tasty locally-made sausages and home-cured bacon.
